2020 Oceania Cycling Championships Announced
The Oceania Cycling Confederation (OCC) is pleased to announce the 2020 Oceania Cycling Championships for Track, Road and BMX.
The 2020 Oceania Track Championship will take place from 16-19, October 2019 in Invercargill, New Zealand. 40 titles will be awarded across elite and under 19 categories for men and women, forming an important part of the Olympic qualification process.
Having successfully hosted the 2018 and 2019 Championships, the 2020 Oceania Road Championships return to Tasmania from March 13-15, 2020. Men’s and women’s elite, under 23 and under 19 titles will be awarded across time trials and road races.
Two weeks later on March 28, 2020 Tasmania will also welcome BMX racers for the 2020 Oceania BMX Championships, during a week of packed BMX action that also includes the Australian BMX Championships.
President of the Oceania Cycling Confederation and Member of the Union Cycliste Internationale Management Committee Tracey Gaudry said, “We are delighted to announce the 2020 Oceania Championships for Track, Road and BMX will be held across Australia and New Zealand.
“The Oceania Championships represent an exceptional opportunity for elite and aspiring riders to compete in international events on our continent and take on even greater significance in 2020, as the last Continental Championships before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics offering important Olympic qualification opportunities.”
Details for the 2020 Oceania Mountain Bike Championships will be announced in the coming weeks.
The inaugural 2019 Oceania BMX Freestyle Championships, the final 2019 Oceania Championship will be held December 7 in Melbourne, Australia.
