In a history making moment for cycling in the Pacific, New Caledonia claimed their first Oceania Championship medal in 19 years as Keryl Moutry won bronze in the under 19 men’s points race. Moutry received his medal from track cycling great Felicia Ballanger, a 10 time world champion and three time Olympic gold medallist.

2019 World champion and 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Campbell Stewart was a dominant force in the elite men’s omnium winning the scratch and elimination race and finishing third ahead of the final points race.

Silver went to teammate Thomas Sexton (New Zealand) with Olympic team pursuit champion and world record holder Oliver Bleddyn (Australia) rounding out the podium.

In the elite men’s keirin, Olympian and two-time bronze medallist Sam Dakin (New Zealand) unleashed his sprint to take his maiden title ahead of Bryon Davies (Australia) and Daniel Barber (Australia).

In under 19 events Samuel Washington (Australia) won the men’s points race ahead of Bailey MacDonald (Australia) and Keryl Moutry (New Caledonia). Moutry’s medal was the first by a rider from New Caledonia since 2006.
