Inaugural Oceania Mountain Bike Marathon Championships to be held in Dwellingup Western Australia

The Oceania Cycling Confederation is pleased to announce the inaugural Oceania Mountain Bike Marathon Championships will be held 17 September in Dwellingup, Western Australia.

The Championships will be held as part of the 2023 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon Masters World Championships.

The addition of Mountain Bike Marathon to the Oceania Championship schedule, continues to grow the Championship offering across disciplines. BMX Freestyle was introduced in 2019 and Para-cycling road and track added in 2022.

Oceania Cycling Confederation President Tony Mitchell said, “The UCI and Oceania Cycling Confederation are excited to add Mountain Bike Marathon as the newest Oceania Championship event.

“The inaugural Championships are sure to be an exciting event and attract our regions leading athletes for this new Championship event.

“The Oceania Cycling Confederation thanks the Western Australian Government via Tourism WA and AusCycling for supporting the Championships.”

The Marathon Mountain Bike Championships join the previously announced Mountain Bike Cross Country, Track, BMX Freestyle, Road in Brisbane, Mountain Bike Downhill in Toowoomba and BMX Racing in Rotorua in competing the 2023 Championships.

MTB Cross Country: 19 March – Brisbane, Australia
Track (Including Para): 24–28 March – Brisbane, Australia
BMX Freestyle: 26 March – Brisbane, Australia
Road (Including Para): 31 March (Time Trial) and 1 April (Road Race) – Brisbane, Australia
MTB Downhill: 15-16 April – Toowoomba, Australia
BMX Racing: 16 April – Rotorua, New Zealand
MTB Marathon: 17 September – Dwellingup, WA
