Kai Pyyvaara and Zana Evan win 2025 Oceania Mountain Bike Enduro titles

Australia’s Kai Pyyvaara and Zana Evan have claimed the elite titles at the 2025 Oceania Mountain Bike Enduro titles in Collie, Western Australia on 2 October 2025.

In the elite men’s race, Pyyvaara started strongly with wins in the first two stages before Sam Butler (Australia) fought back claiming three of the next four to create a showdown in the final stage with Pyyvaara taking it by less than a second to seal the win over Butler with Tim Eaton (Australia) rounding out the top three.

“Going into the last stage I knew there was not much time between me and Sam Butler, but I just had to get in the zone and tell myself this is just got to go call HAM on this last one and yeh I did and came out on top,” said Pyyvaara.

“This is like first year in the elites for me, coming up from the younger age groups and wasn’t expecting much but I just told myself I need to perform with the elites if that’s where I want to get to.

“I honestly wasn’t expecting it but just put it in today and got the result.”

After finishing third on the opening stage of the elite women’s race due to a mechanical issues Evans bounced back to take the second to set up a dominant run to the finish when she won the final four of seven to seal the title. Evans turned her bronze medal from a year ago into gold and the jersey ahead of 2024 winner Elle De Nooyer (Australia) with Taylah Sherriff (Australia).
