Lachlan Stevens-McNab and Jenna Hastings wins round two of 2025 Oceania Mountain Bike Continental Series in Rotorua

Lachlan Stevens-McNab (New Zealand) and Jenna Hastings (New Zealand) took the elite downhill wins at round two of the Oceania Mountain Bike Continental Series in Rotorua, New Zealand, 14-16 February 2025.

Hastings took back-to-back elite women’s series wins to put herself in a convincing lead of the series after the opening two rounds. Stopping the clock in 4mins 35.219secs, she was nearly 20 second clear to second place finisher Mille Johnset (Norway) with Louise-Anna Ferguson (Great Britain) less than a second further back.

“My strategy was just push hard at the top and try and hold on at the bottom. And I did that. I rode how I wanted to at the top. I pushed where I wanted to. I kind of wanted to go off-line a little bit, but nothing to major, and yeah, then just dug in at the bottom, and just pedal,” said Hastings.

“I almost thought about sitting down, but I knew if I sat down I was not going to stand back up. So yeah, I just powered through and just wanted to get to that finish line”, Hastings confirms that the Redemption Downhill course was challenging even the best riders.”

In the elite men’s series Lachlan Stevens-McNab (New Zealand) took the win improving on his second place from the opening round. The Kiwi rider was seven seconds clear of Bernard Kerr (Great Britain) with Tegan Cruz rounding out the podium.

Tyler Waite and Kate Hastings won the junior men’s and women’s races respectively.
