Oceania Cycling Confederation welcomes Belau and Nauru as new Members

The Oceania Cycling Confederation (OCC) is delighted to welcome Belau and Nauru as new member nations, following the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Congress in Zurich, Switzerland, Friday 27 September, 2024.

Belau and Nauru were officially recognised by the UCI bringing the total number of member nations to 205. The UCI is one of the few international federations to have more than 200 members.

Their admission grows the number of National Federations affiliated with the OCC to 14, comprising 11 Full Members and three Associate Members.

OCC President and UCI Management Committee Member Tony Mitchell said, “The UCI and OCC welcome Belau and Nauru as member nations, and the OCC Executive looks forward to working with both Federations.

“10 years ago, the OCC had four members, today we have 14, of which 11 are full members. The past decade has been one of significant growth for the OCC and cycling in the Pacific region. This growth has enabled us to provide further support to members and champion the continued growth of cycling in their nations and across the Pacific Islands.

“Growing new members remains a key objective of the OCC Strategic Plan and we continue to engage with prospective members in Oceania to affiliate with the UCI and OCC.”
