Oceania regions best to race for inaugural Oceania Gravel title in Adelaide
A stacked field of the best gravel riders in Oceania will line up chasing the inaugural Oceania Gravel Championships in Adelaide on Friday 23 January 2026.
Entry Lists
Held as part of RADL GRVL, the 2016 Oceania Gravel Championships also serve as a qualifying opportunity for the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships to be held in Nannup Australia in October. The winners of the elite races and respective age-group categories will earn a spot at the World Championships.
In the elite women’s field Australian National Champion and RADL GRVL co-founder Tiffany Cromwell will be looking to add the Oceania Champions jersey to her name.
Don’t expect Cromwell to have it all her own way with 2025 UCI Gravel World Series number one rider Nicole Frain (Australia) also on the start list and with two wins and four second places will be looking to stake her claim.
As will Cassia Boglio (Australia) who finished last year ranked 11. Other names to watch include former Oceania Champions in mountain bike Samara Sheppard (New Zealand) and Elle De Nooyer (Australia).
Expect to see another strong battle for the title in the elite men’s with regular winner on the UCI Gravel World Series and 2024 Australian champion Brendan Johnston eyeing a maiden Oceania crown.
Reigning Australian Champion Mark O’Brien is another name to watch as he eyes the Oceania Champions jersey to go with his green and gold jersey. Plus with the likes of Tasman Nankervis (Australia), Matthew Bird (Australia) and Brent Rees (Australia) it is a race that is sure to hotly contested.
