Olympians and World Champions to race for 2025 Oceania BMX titles

Olympians and World Champions will descend on New Plymouth, New Zealand for the 2025 Oceania BMX Championships on Sunday 2 February.

In the elite women’s field Paris Olympian and two time Junior Champion Leila Walker (New Zealand) will be eyeing her first elite Oceania crown. She will not have it all her own way with defending champion Sienna Pal (Australia) and 2024 Junior World Champion and 2024 junior champion Teya Rufus (Australia) and chasing their own glory.

With no former winners on the start line in the elite men’s a new champion will be crowned. Leading the way is 2024 medallists Michael Bias (New Zealand) and Jesse Asmus (Australia) along with 2024 Under 23 Champion Oliver Moran (Australia), and former age medallists Bennett Greenough (New Zealand) and Kyle Hill (Australia).

Both 2024 under 23 champions have stepped up to the elite category and we will see new champions crowned for men and women. After standing on the podium a year ago Brooke Penny (New Zealand) and Isabella Schramm (Australia) will be eying the top step. In the men’s Jordan Callum is looking to turn bronze in to gold.

In the junior categories Preston Murray (Australia) is chasing back to back titles after winning in Brisbane a year ago, though with silver medallist Finn Cogan also on the start ramp he will not have it all his own way. Expect an open competition for the junior women’s title.
