Olympic and Paralympic Champions will be chasing time trial gold on the opening day of 2026 Oceania Road Championships in Brisbane, Australia, Thursday 9 April.
Elite
Olympic champion in the team pursuit Oliver Bleddyn headlines the elite men’s field after finishing second at the Australian National Championships. Olympic team pursuit gold medal winning teammate Conor Leahy who claimed fifth at the Australian National Championships will be eyeing the title for himself.
In the women’s event watch for reigning road champion Katelyn Nicholson (Australia) who claimed time trial silver at the last Championships and will be looking to complete the double. Bronwyn MacGregor (New Zealand) who finished fifth in 2024 will be eyeing a return to the podium having claimed silver in 2023.
Para-cycling
Some of the world’s best will be in action in Para-cycling categories. Paralympic and world champion Alana Forster (Australia) in the women’s C5, world champion and Paralympic medallist Lauren Parker (Australia) in the women’s H3, world champion Tahlia Clayton-Goodie (Australia) in the women’s C1, Paralympic and World Championship medallist Meg Lemon (Australia) in the women’s C4 and dual Paralympic medallist and former world champion Darren Hicks (Australia) in the men’s C2 are among the names to watch.
Under 23
Australian National Champion Sophia Sammons will be eyeing a second title having won in 2024. In the men’s Julian Baudry (Australia) will be looking to go one better than at the Australian National Championships where he claimed silver. Joshua Rowe (New Zealand), Thomas Waites (Australia) and Dylan Proctor-Parker (Australia) are also names to watch.
Under 19
Neve Parslow (Australia) looks to continue a stellar start to 2026, with the rising star claiming both the time trial and road race at the Australian Championships in January. Parslow won’t have it all her own way with Megan Moore who finished just four seconds behind at the National Championships also lining up as is bronze medallist Chloe Bowen.
In the under 19 men’s Alistair Forsyth (Australia) will be looking to upgrade his Australian National Championship silver to Oceania gold.
