Rebecca Henderson and Anton Cooper dominate final cross-country round of 2026 Oceania Mountain Bike Continental Series
Rebecca Henderson (Australia) and Anton Cooper (New Zealand) finished the last round of the 2026 Oceania Mountain Bike Continental Series where they started with dominant performances in Cairns, Australia.
Elite Women
Henderson finished the series where she started with a dominant performance. A fast start by under 23 and under 19 riders didn’t stop the four-time Olympian from breezing through the field and setting off on her own.
Stopping the clock for the six lap race in one hour 27 minutes and 45 seconds, she was nearly five and a half minutes clear of Sarah Tucknott (Australia) who claimed a fourth consecutive second place finish. Hilary Bell (Canada) rounded out the podium.
Henderson claimed the overall series on 400 points ahead of Tucknott on 320 and Mary Gray (New Zealand) on 270.

Elite Men
Cooper was again unbeatable as he showed his class to win his fourth round of the series and the overall series title with it. The New Zealander finished a lap clear of Jonathon Noble (Australia) and Daniel Lucas (Australia) in second and third.
With four wins across the series Cooper sealed the title on 400 points ahead of Toby Stewart (Australia) on 245 and Sam Gaze (New Zealand) on 160.

Under 23 Men
Joel Dodds (Australia) reversed the result from round four. Harry Doye had the jump early though Dodds was able to come from behind and take the win. Eddie Adams (New Zealand) completed the podium.
Jack Ward (Australia) who won the opening four rounds claimed the series on 240 points with Doye second on 180 and Dodds third on 143.

Under 23 Women
Taylor again made a fast start to lead after the opening lap. Once off the front there was no stopping the rising star as she raced away to win her fifth round of the series in convincing style. Ella Menigoz (Australia) finished second four minutes back, with Ruby Dobson (Australia) in third.
The series victory went to Taylor on 240 points ahead of a Menigoz on 150 and Milla Phipps (New Zealand) on 140.

Under 19 Men
Nothing separated the top two in the under 19 men at the finish line. Oliver Grande (Australia) took the early lead though Tommy Mollison (New Zealand) was able to ride his way back into contention with Mollison able to take the sprint to the line. Levi Gear (New Zealand) finished third.
James Climo (New Zealand) finishes the series at the top of the standings on 76 points, just four clear of Mollison in second and Gear a further four points back in third.

Under 19 Women
A day after winning her first race of the series, Junge backed up and did the double. Second went to Alana Fletcher (Australia) just over a minute behind with Dulcie Copeland in third.
Despite not racing the final two rounds Kayley McMillan (New Zealand) claimed the overall series on 80 points, while Junge moved up to second on 68 with Copeland in third also on 68.
