Reece Tucknott and Rebecca Henderson claim cross-country round four of the 2026 Oceania Mountain Bike Continental Series

Australia’s Reece Tucknott and Rebecca Henderson claimed elite victories in the fourth cross-country round of the 2026 Oceania Mountain Bike Continental Series in Canberra, Australia, Sunday 1 March.

In under 23 racing Jack Ward (Australia) and Ruby Taylor (Australia) backed up their round three wins. As did Connor Wright (Australia) and Kayley McMillan (New Zealand) in the under 19 races.

The final two rounds will be held in Cairns, Australia, 18 and 19 April 2026.

Cross-country Rankings after Round 4

Elite Men

Tucknott and Cameron Ivory (Australia) were closely matched over the opening two laps, before Ivory a former Australian Champion upped the pace and built a nearly 20 second lead.

His lead was short lived with Tucknott able to respond and claw back the gap over the following lap, before surging away to take one of the biggest wins of his career. Tucknott’s time of 1:27:30 was 35 seconds clear of Ivory with round three winner Toby Stewart (Australia) a further 12 seconds back.

Consistency is proving key for Stewart in the series standing as he moves into the lead on 245 points. 45 clear of Anton Cooper (New Zealand). Ivory proved another of the biggest movers of the weekend with two second place finishes putting him on 160 points for equal third with Samuel Gaze (New Zealand).

Elite Women

It was a closely matched opening two laps between Henderson and Sarah Tucknott (Australia) with the pair closely matched as they started lap three. It was there the four-time Olympian put the power down and began to distance Tucknott, and steadily built a lead over the next four laps to finish in one hour and 23 minutes. A minute and seven seconds clear of Tucknott in second with Mary Gray (New Zealand) claiming her third podium finish of the series.

With four of six rounds complete Henderson has 400 points and an unassailable lead.

Under 23 Men

Ward continued his unbeaten run in the series to claim his fourth win. After starting the second lap with five riders together, the rising star put the power down and steadily built his advantage over the next six to finish 50 seconds clear of Harry Doye (Australia) with Lindon Milostic (Australia) a further 40 seconds back.

With his four wins and the top four results counting for the series rankings Ward has secured the overall series win on 240 points.

Under 23 Women

In similar style to round three Taylor opened a lead on the opening lap before increasing it over the course of the five lap race. Her time of one hour and 11 minutes and 36 seconds was just over a minute clear of Milla Phipps (New Zealand) with Ella Menigoz (Australia) a further 20 seconds back.

After four rounds Taylor leads the series on 220 points, 80 clear of second place Phipps to be unbeatable with two rounds remaining.

Under 19 Men

Racing in the Oceania Champions jersey, Wright hit out early and never looked back as he took a second dominant victory in as many days. He finished three minutes clear of James Climo (New Zealand) with Oliver Grande (Australia) completing the top three,

With two wins and two second place finishes Climo leads the series on 76 points.

Under 19 Women

McMillan opened a nearly 40 second gap on the opening lap on route to her fourth consecutive victory. The junior Oceania Champion covered four laps in 57 minutes and 12 seconds, over three minutes clear of Freya Buckmaster (Australia) with Dulcie Copeland (New Zealand) a further 32 seconds back.

With four wins McMillan is now assured of the overall series victory on 80 points.
