Teva Poulain and Clemence Dede claim inaugural Oceania Mountain Bike Pacific Cup

Teva Poulain (Tahiti) and Clemence Dede (Tahiti) claim inaugural Oceania Mountain Bike Pacific Cup in Brisbane, held in conjunction with the 2024 Oceania Mountain Bike Championships.

Poulain showed his skill early and moved in to the early lead and didn’t look back. In addition to completing the four lap Pacific Cup course he finished 12th in the elite men’s championship race. Silver went to teammate and 2023 Pacific Cup time trial champion Kahiri Endeler with Guam’s Edward Oingerang completing the podium.

In the women’s Pacific Cup it was Dede who produced consistent laps to claim the title and finished 13th in the elite women’s championship race. Samoan sisters Patricia and Maria Brooks completed the podium with silver and bronze.

The Pacific Cup forms part of the Oceania Cycling Confederation development strategy to grow cycling in the Pacific, which includes the return of cycling to the 2027 Pacific Games to be hosted in Tahiti.

Competitors were supported to the Pacific Cup by UCI Solidarity Funding.
