Thomas Cornish wins time trial on final day of 2025 Oceania Track Championships

Thomas Cornish (Australian) claimed his third kilometre time trial title in four years on the final day of the 2025 Oceania Track Championships in Brisbane.

World Championship and Commonwealth Games medallist Cornish stopped the clock in 59.574 seconds for the four laps of the track in the final. Narrowly beating out 2024 Junior World Champion Tayte Ryan (Australia) who also went under the magic one minute time. Bryon Davies (Australia) collected bronze.

In the final event of the Championships Thomas Sexton (New Zealand) put on another masterclass to take out the elite men’s points race. His 92 point total narrowly beat out Olympic team pursuit champion Oliver Bleddyn (Australia) on 86 as Keegan Hornblow (New Zealand) completed the podium on 57.

After three individual bronze medals Samantha Donnelly (New Zealand) asserted herself in the women’s elimination race for her maiden title. Bryony Botha (New Zealand) added another medal to her collection and rising Australian star Alli Anderson outsmarted her rivals for another bronze medal.

Rylee McMullen (New Zealand) lapped her way to gold in the women’s points race in another New Zealand sweep of the podium with Bryony Botha and Samantha Donnelly.

In under 19 events Amelie Sanders (Australia) completed her Championships with a fifth title by winning the omnium. Silver went to Anna Dubier (Australia) and Leani Van der Berg (Australia).

Ebony Robinson (Australia) claimed the women’s keirin adding to her sprint and team sprint titles ahead of Ella Liang (Australia) and Maddison Smith (Australia).

Alexander Hewes (Australia) won the under 19 men’s omnium for his fourth individual title of the Championships beating out Samuel Washington (Australia) in the final sprint for the win. Jonas Shelverton (Australia) completed the podium.

Mitchell Louie (Australia) won the keirin ahead of Patrick Maye (Australia) and Flynn Underwood (New Zealand).

Erin Normoyle, Kyle Willis and Korey Boddington claimed gold in the Para-cycling C1-C5 team sprint.
