Western Australia to host 2024 Oceania Mountain Bike Marathon and Enduro Championships

The Oceania Cycling Confederation (OCC) is delighted to announce the awarding of two Oceania Mountain Bike Championships to Western Australia.

The South West of Western Australia will become the home of mountain biking in Oceania in the Spring of 2024, hosting the Oceania Championships for Mountain Bike Marathon and Mountain Bike Enduro.

Following the success of the inaugural Mountain Bike Marathon Championships last year, they return to Dwellingup as part of the longstanding Dwellingup 100 race on September 14.

The 2024 edition is the first of an exciting three-year agreement that will see the Oceania Championships held in Dwellingup until 2026.

A month later Collie will host the Oceania Mountain Bike Enduro Championships on October 17. Held as part of the AusCycling Enduro National Championships the event will see the first Oceania Champions crowned in Enduro.

Oceania Cycling Confederation President Tony Mitchell said, “The UCI and OCC are excited to bring two Oceania Mountain Bike Championships to Western Australia in 2024.

“In 2023 we introduced an Oceania Championships for Mountain Bike Marathon for the first time and following that success we are pleased to have signed a three-year agreement for the Championships to remain in Dwellingup through to 2026.

“In a further exciting step the Oceania Championships see further growth with the introduction of Mountain Bike Enduro for the first time, offering even more opportunities to race for the Oceania title.

“Oceania Championships are the pinnacle events for cycling in our region and the OCC continues to collaborate with partners to grow the Continental Championships.

“The OCC extends its thanks AusCycling, The Event Team and The Western Australian Government, through Tourism WA and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for their support in hosting these Championships.”
